Customer guide

From QR scan to completed service

Follow these steps when using electricity, water, lighting, gate access or another service provided through EMIKO.

Before you begin

You need a phone or other connected device and an EMIKO account. You can use the Android or iOS application, or continue in a modern browser without installing anything.

The exact services, prices and access rules are set by the EMIKO Partner operating the location.

  • A phone, tablet or computer with a browser
  • An EMIKO account, created once and used everywhere
  • The QR code on the equipment in front of you
  • A payment method, or an account approved by the Partner

The complete process, step by step

Each step below matches what the application shows you at that moment.

  1. Scan the QR code

Scan the code attached to the pedestal, water outlet, gate, light or other connected equipment.

The code identifies the exact equipment and opens the correct page in EMIKO. You do not need to type a number or search through the location manually.

If the app is not installed

The scan directs you to the appropriate mobile download page. You can also use the web application if you prefer not to install the app.

If you are not signed in

Sign in or create an account using one of the available methods. These may include Google, Microsoft or email.

  2. Request access when required

Some equipment is available to every registered customer. Other equipment is restricted to approved users.

    If approval is required:

    1. The correct access request opens after scanning.
    2. Check the location, equipment and service requested.
    3. Submit the request to the EMIKO Partner.
    4. Wait for the approval notification.
    5. Open the equipment again after access is granted.

The EMIKO Partner operating the location is responsible for approving or declining the request.

  3. Check the service before starting

Review the information shown in the app:

    • Location and equipment
    • Selected outlet or service
    • Availability and access status
    • Unit price or charging method
    • Payment or account arrangement
    • Any instructions supplied by the Partner

Make sure the displayed equipment is the one in front of you before continuing.

  4. Connect and start

For electricity, connect the appropriate cable. For water, connect the hose. Follow any safety or operating instructions displayed at the equipment.

Select the service where more than one option is available, confirm the price and payment method, then press start.

  5. Follow the active service

While the service is running, EMIKO can show:

    • The active equipment and service
    • Measured consumption
    • Current cost
    • Remaining prepaid balance, where applicable
    • Start time and running duration

You can stop the service from the application at any time.

  6. Finish the service

Stop the service in EMIKO and disconnect your cable or hose. Where automatic stop on disconnection is enabled, check that the order has closed correctly before leaving.

The completed order records the equipment, service period, measured usage and settlement status.

  7. Payment and invoices

    Pay as you go

Payment is handled through the application according to the price shown before the service begins. The final amount is based on the measured usage and the Partner's pricing rules.

    Approved account customer

If the EMIKO Partner has approved you or your organisation for account billing, prepayment may not be required. Usage is invoiced according to the terms agreed with that Partner.

Using EMIKO at another location

Use the same EMIKO account at every participating location. Scan the equipment there and request access from the new EMIKO Partner if the service is restricted.

Your account remains the same, but each Partner manages its own access, services, prices and billing arrangements.

  • One account across participating locations
  • A new access request only where the service is restricted
  • Local prices and terms set by each Partner
  • One order history covering every location

If something does not work

Access request still pending

Contact the EMIKO Partner operating the location. Only that Partner can approve local equipment access.

Equipment unavailable or reporting a fault

Contact the location operator and identify the equipment shown in EMIKO.

Account or application problem

Use the EMIKO contact page and include the email address attached to your account. Do not send passwords or payment-card information.
